Mellifluous Chamber Choir Auditions 2022
Mellifluous chamber choir is looking for members! This is an upper voices choir and we would like to hear from any over 18 year old who has a Soprano or Alto range. A high level of musicality and experience of choral singing is essential as we only have 4 rehearsals before events. Singers need to be able to sight-read and musical training on any instrument to grade 8 standard is desired, though not compulsory. The Holly, The Ivy and The Mistletoe C.D. Launch
Launching the new recording of 'The Holly, The Ivy and The Mistletoe', a winter folk oratorio. A live choral performance to put you in the spirit of the season. All ticket holders get a free copy of the CD and accompanying book. Refreshments will be available from Lightbulb Coffee.
Folk Day: Honey Voice Folk Choir
After the success of Honey Voices in January we are giving you another chance to sing folk songs in a group, if at a safe distance! We will learn a folk song in beautiful harmony and if you like you can record your part so we can make a multi track video that we can share.
Folk Day: Technical Singing Workshop
Jessie Thompson leads this vocal workshop, delving deep into vocal technique and how that applies to folk singers. We will cover breathing and support, posture, tuning, speaking, lyrical singing, belting and how to manage all the above whilst playing an instrument. This will be an informative and interactive workshop!

Folk Day: Perfomance Workshop
Storytelling is at the heart of most folk songs. Do you want to improve how you perform? If so this workshop is for you. We’ll be looking at great performers and how they keep your interest, how they weave a story. We’ll be taking example from the folk world and even branching out to musical theatre. This Folk singing workshop for 6-10 year olds aims to help children learn the joys of folk music and folk singing. We’ll be learning to sing loud about what makes us happy, how to sing quietly to make our audience cry and most of all how to love singing folk songs!
